Stephanie Eyram Akrumah is the Founder of the Centre for Green Growth, where she leads programmes and partnerships that advance green skills development, community resilience, and climate policy engagement. Her program is designed to equip young leaders aged 18–35 with practical adaptation knowledge and leadership skills that empower them to take action within their communities. The training is grounded in the internationally recognised Toolkit for Youth on Climate Adaptation & Leadership, developed under the Global Centre on Adaptation’s Youth Leadership Program in partnership with the CARE Climate Justice Centre and supported by Norad. Stephanie’s program is cultivating informed, capable, and confident young changemakers who are driving climate resilience across Ghana.

In the first year of the Accelerator Fund, Stephanie trained 40 young people in climate adaptation, leadership, and community resilience. Participants learned to design context-specific adaptation solutions, influence local decision-making, and support vulnerable groups. She also disbursed a USD 500 seed grant to participants who pitched innovative adaptation project ideas, enabling them to reach an additional 50 smallholder farmers and extend climate adaptation knowledge into new communities while identifying emerging local champions. Her program positively impacted 150 community members through farmer networks and youth-led initiatives, strengthening local resilience and expanding the reach of climate action efforts.

With the Accelerator Fund, we plan to accelerate community impact by providing more young people with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to drive climate adaptation initiatives in their communities. This support has helped me grow as a leader and amplify the voices of the communities I work with.

Stephanie is expanding the program to support more young people in developing and implementing climate adaptation ideas within their communities in Ghana. This phase provides targeted mentorship, practical tools, and micro-support to help participants transform their adaptation concepts into community-ready solutions. She will deepen youth leadership in climate resilience, broaden the program’s geographic reach, and strengthen community engagement across regions.
